Lacoste´s "Celebrating Eighty"

Ayer tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la celebración del aniversario 80 de la legendaria marca Lacoste realizada en el Mall Multiplaza Pacific. El polo de Lacoste, también conocido como L.12.12, sin duda creó una revolución en la vestimenta de los deportistas y a su vez encontró su camino hacia el mundo de la moda convirtiéndose en una pieza atemporal que hoy día podemos encontrar en los armarios de casi todas las personas. El patrón de esta pieza posee una característica única, su adaptabilidad que le permite mezclarse en diferentes estilos y es algo que me atrevo a decir la lleva a situarse cerca de la posición privilegiada y reverenciada que posee la camisa blanca.

Esta celebración contó con una galería-exhibición histórica titulada "Celebrating Eighty" en la cual los asistentes fuimos guiados a través de distintos puntos clave en el recorrido de esta pieza junto con su creador René Lacoste. La exhibición es una excelente muestra de como el polo ha ido evolucionando con el paso del tiempo, al igual que su legendario logo, hasta nuestros días en donde tomando la visión de su autor la marca crea un concepto en el cual esta pieza atemporal, con ayuda de la tecnología, expande sus posibilidades con textiles inteligentes y una superficie dinámica la cual cambia de color, se adapta a su medio ambiente, brilla en la oscuridad y que puede ocupar todo el espectro de colores.

En conmemoración del aniversario de la marca también fueron mostrados doce polos con motivos distintos y especiales, como el de la foto superior. El evento contó con la participación de diversos medios, bloggers, admiradores de la marca y el embajador de Francia en una noche especial que recorrió el pasado, miró al futuro y fue sin lugar a duda un tributo a René Lacoste.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the legendary brand Lacoste conducted in Multiplaza Pacific Mall. The Lacoste Polo, also known as L.12.12 undoubtedly created a revolution in the clothing of athletes and in turn found its way into the fashion world becoming a timeless piece that can be found today in the closets of almost everyone. The pattern of this piece has a unique feature,  its adaptability that allows it to be mixed in different styles and is something I dare say leads it to be close to the privileged and revered position of the white shirt.

This celebration also held a historical gallery-exhibition entitled "Celebrating Eighty" in which attendees were guided through various key points in the course of this piece along with its creator René Lacoste. The exhibition is an excellent example of how the polo has evolved over time, as the legendary logo, to the present day where inspired by the view of its author the brand created a concept in which the timeless piece, with the help of technology, expands its potential with smart textiles and a dynamic surface, changes color, adapts to its environment, glows in the dark and can occupy the entire color spectrum.

In commemoration of the brand´s anniversary there also were shown twelve polo shirts with unique and special motifs, like the photo above. The event was attended by various media, bloggers, fans of the brand and the ambassador of France in a special night that reviewed past, looked to the future and was no doubt a tribute to Rene Lacoste.
