¡Hola mis queridos lectores! Hoy volvemos para hablar un poco sobre el New York Fashion Week el cual hace dos días finalizó las pasarelas para la temporada primavera/verano 2020 en una semana de la moda marcada por el cambio, más corta, instaurado por el nuevo presidente del CFDA, Tom Ford.
Desde hace ya varios años he podido leer diversos artículos que pronunciaban el NYFW como un evento zombie; sigue andando pero no tiene vida. Quizás fue debido a su extensión tan larga que permitió marcas que no aportaban mucho a la escena ademas de extenuar a los asistentes, pudo ser también el enfoque tan particular en el streetwear que si bien retrata un estilo directo de la calle carece de ser el mejor medio para la creatividad o quizás la estética general orientada hacia lo comercial palidecía al ser comparada con la creatividad londinense, la elegancia italiana y la inevitable magia francesa.
Sin embargo, este año si duda se sintió un cambio positivo en el transcurso del evento que revitalizó lo que para muchos se había convertido en una parada obligatoria pero no necesariamente emocionante. Las mayoría de las marcas no solo prestaron más atención a crear experiencias y ambientes que transportaban a los asistentes al mundo en el que habitaba sus colecciones sino que en general hubo un retorno a la elegancia del diseño con propuestas frescas, puntuales, inclusivas y sobre todo cargadas de buena energía. Ojalá esto marque el inicio de un nuevo amanecer para esta semana de la moda, solo el tiempo dirá.
Lo que yo si les puedo decir es que como cada año hice una recopilación de mis tendencias favoritas y a continuación las comparto con ustedes.

Hello my dear readers! Today we are back to talk a little about New York Fashion Week which two days ago ended the runways for the spring/summer 2020 season in a week of fashion marked by the change, shorter, established by the new president of the CFDA, Tom Ford
For several years now I have been able to read various articles that pronounced the NYFW as a zombie event; still walking but with no life. Perhaps it was due to its length so long that it allowed brands that did not contribute much to the scene in addition to exhausting the attendees, it could also be the particular focus on streetwear that although it portrays a direct street style it lacks being the best medium for creativity or perhaps the general aesthetic oriented towards the commercial paled to be compared with London´s creativity, Italian elegance and the inevitable French magic.
However, this year there was certainly a positive change in the course of the event that revitalized what for many had become a mandatory but not necessarily exciting stop. Most brands not only paid more attention to creating experiences and environments that transported attendees to the world in which their collections inhabited but in general there was a return to the elegance of design with fresh, timely, inclusive and above all proposals loaded with good energy. Hopefully this marks the beginning of a new dawn for this fashion week, only time will tell.
What I can tell you is that as every year I compiled my favorite trends which am about to share with you.
1. Utilitarian Vibes
Varias marcas encontraron inspiración en estéticas casi militares o de trabajo que transformaron en atuendos elegantes con un toque de dureza dibujando una mujer con poder y presencia.
Several brands found inspiration in almost military or workwear aesthetics that transformed into elegant attire with a touch of hardness drawing a woman with power and presence.

2. Puffed Sleeves
Pareciera que tomando nota de las pasarelas en Colombiamoda diversas marcas se sumaron a la tendencia de las mangas englobadas las cuales ya son insignia de la estética latina conocida como Tropicalismo.
It seems that taking note from the Colombiamoda runways several brands joined the trend of the puffed sleeves that are already a flagship of the Latin aesthetic known as Tropicalism.

3. Sexy Slips
Todos los años se pueden ver ciertas décadas hacer su regreso en las tendencias y sin duda los noventas con el proverbial y sexy traje 'slip' estuvieron entre las favoritas para muchos diseñadores durante este NYFW.
Every year you can see certain decades make their return in the trends and without a doubt the nineties with the proverbial and sexy slip dress were among the favorites for many designers during this NYFW.

4. Vibrant Curves
La inclusión ha sido sin duda uno de los ejes que ha marcado el cambio en esta semana de la moda y me encantó ver a los diseñadores vestir a estas mujeres con curvas en hermosos colores, texturas y estampados en vez de ataviarlas de negro como suelen hacer.
Inclusion has undoubtedly been one of the axes that has marked the change in this fashion week and I loved seeing designers dress these women with curves in beautiful colors, textures and prints instead of wearing black as they usually do .

5. Summer Evenings
Una de mis cosas favoritas de esta temporada fue ver los diseños elegantes en colores vibrantes perfectos para recrear la imagen de un sueño de una noche de verano.
One of my favorite things of this season was seeing the elegant evening designs in vibrant colors perfect to recreate the image of a summer night's dream.

6. Future Codes
Confieso que esta es más que nada una indulgencia y es por que me encantan los diseños que tienen una estética moderna que raya en el futurismo con cortes y formas que no se ven comúnmente en las calles...¡Pero deberían!
I confess that this is mostly an indulgence because I love designs that have a modern aesthetic that borders on futurism with cuts and shapes that are not commonly seen in the streets ... But they should!

Sin duda un NYFW que renovó mis ganas de ver que mas traerán, después que Delpozo se fuera ya había abandonado las esperanzas jaja. Al final solamente tengo una interrogante y es ¿Cuando la inclusión finalmente volteara a ver a los chicos plus size? Ojalá la respuesta se presente pronto.
Undoubtedly, a NYFW that renewed my desire to see what else they will bring, after Delpozo left I had already abandoned my hopes haha. In the end I only have one question and it is when will the inclusion brigade finally turn to see the plus size boys? I hope the answer comes soon.

ReplyDeleteA mi me gustó mucho esta edición...más enfoque en el diseño y menos streetstyle. Estoy feliz con lo de la inclusión, por ahi cualquier día se da lo plus para chicos, cuestión de tiempo!
