LFW Spring/Summer 2020 - Top Trends.

¡Hola a tod@s! Hoy estoy de vuelta con mis tendencias favoritas del London Fashion Week temporada primavera/verano 2020, también conocida como el unicornio de los fashion weeks. Siendo la semana de la moda más corta hay menos presentaciones por lo que esta lista es algo pequeña comparada con las demás.

Debo ser muy claro en que Londres no es mi semana de la moda favorita pues si bien la creatividad en ella es excelente a veces puede ser demasiado experimental para mi gusto y aunque en temporadas pasadas he encontrado diseños creativos fascinantes en esta que recientemente pasó lamentablemente no divisé ninguno que realmente me gustara. Ahora eso no quiere decir que las pasarelas pasaron sin creaciones o tendencias que resaltar y es lo que les muestro a continuación, espero les guste mi selección.

Hello everyone! Today I am back with my favorite trends of the London Fashion Week spring / summer 2020 season, also known as the unicorn of fashion weeks. Being the shortest fashion week there are fewer presentations so this list is somewhat small compared to the others.

I must be very clear with the fact that London is not my favorite fashion week because although the creativity in it is excellent sometimes it can be too experimental for my taste and although in past seasons I have found fascinating creative designs this season that recently happened unfortunately it did not happened for me. Now this does not mean that the runways passed by without creations or trends to highlight and that is what I´m about to show you next, hope you like my selection.

Victorian Nostalgia

Sin duda una de las tendencias más fuertes para la próxima temporada ya que ha tenido presencia en todos los fashion weeks y en menor medida en eventos como Colombiamoda donde las mangas en particular fueron un punto de enfoque. Una tendencia que siento encajaría muy bien con aquellas personas que siguen la "moda modesta" ya que sin duda hay maneras de adaptarla.

Undoubtedly one of the strongest trends for the next season since it has had a presence in all fashion weeks and to a lesser extent in events such as Colombiamoda where the sleeves in particular were a point of focus. A trend that I feel would fit very well with people who follow the "modest fashion" movement since there are certainly ways to adapt it.

Eastern Vibes

Algo muy particular en Londres fue ver diversas pasarelas utilizar elementos de la cultura asiática, especialmente la china, como inspiración en sus colecciones ya fuera por creadores británicos u originarios del país. Si bien esta temática como inspiración no me extraña ya que las diversas culturas asiáticas son increíblemente ricas en detalle e historia, lo que si llamó mucho mi atención fue la utilización de elementos 'anime' como en el caso de Preen (también lo he visto en dos pasarelas de Milán).

Something very particular in London was to see various catwalks using elements of Asian culture, especially Chinese, as inspiration in their collections either by British or native creators of the country. While this theme as an inspiration does not surprise me since the diverse Asian cultures are incredibly rich in detail and history, what caught my attention was the use of 'anime' elements as in the case of Preen (I have also seen it in two runways from Milan).

Trench Revamped

El trench o gabardina es ya una pieza icono del estilo londinense ¡Llueve mucho! Y esta temporada varias marcas decidieron refrescar este clásico modificando su forma con cortes, volúmenes y elementos de diseño que le dieron nueva vida sin perder, en la mayoría de los casos, el elemento fundamental de esta pieza que es proteger al portador de las inclemencias del tiempo.

The trench coat is already a London-style icon piece. It rains a lot! And this season several brands decided to refresh this classic by modifying its shape with cuts, volumes and design elements that gave it new life without losing, in most cases, the fundamental element of this piece that is to protect the wearer from the inclemency of the weather.

Checkered Out

Otro clásico de la vestimenta, el estampado de cuadros o plaid, también tuvo su momento al sol en las pasarelas británicas en diferentes tamaños y colores. El mensaje es muy claro, un clásico no tiene por que ser aburrido. Este es un estampado que funciona tanto para hombres como mujeres lo cual le da una excelente versatilidad.

Another classic of clothing, plaid or check print, also had its time in the sun on the British runways in different sizes and colors. The message is very clear, a classic does not have to be boring. This is a print that works for both men and women which gives it excellent versatility.
