A Brand For All - TOMS SS14.

Hola a todos! Para este inicio de semana me gustaría compartir con ustedes una selección de la nueva línea primaveral de la marca TOMS. Debo ser muy sincero y confesar que las alpargatas no eran mi calzado predilecto, junto con los mocasines, pero con el paso del tiempo y viendo los diseños de esta marca he comenzado a apreciarlos y creo que poseen características muy interesantes. 

La primera es que son increíblemente relajados, lo cual calza perfectamente conmigo. Son zapatos perfectos para lucir con estilos cómodos y casuales, además según su diseño pueden incluso ser un statement piece en un look.

Un segundo punto radica en su trasfondo eco friendly. Estos zapatos están fabricados con materiales veganos y reciclados que no afectan el medio ambiente. También la iniciativa One for One, en la que al comprar un par se le brinda uno a un niño de escasos recursos, convierte a esta marca en algo más que una compañía que fabrica calzados, es realmente un estandarte humanitario.

La tercera característica y quizás la mas controversial, por ponerlo de una manera, es que son en general zapatos unisex. Esto podría no figurar bien con algunos chicos pero creo que no hay nada de que preocuparse, uno de los puntos a favor de las piezas unisex es que se adaptan según como los vistas. Así que en un intento para disipar cualquier preocupación o tabú existente sobre las alpargatas, he decidido crear looks, para chico, utilizando cuatro de las alpargatas pertenecientes a la colección primavera-verano 2014 de TOMS. 

Por cierto, ya que estamos cercanos al Día del Padre un par de estos zapatos tampoco vendrían nada mal como un regalo a esa persona que se lo merece (sea Papá, hermano, amigo, primo y/o esposo).

Hello everyone! To start this week I´d like to share with you a little selection from the new TOMS ss14 line. I got to be really honest and tell you this type of footwear was not one of my favorites, along with moccasins, but as time has passed I´ve actually started to appreciate them and recognize that there is definetely some interesting characteristics about them.

For starters they just ooze easyness, which goes pretty well with me. They are perfect to pair with comfy and casual looks besides according to the design on them they can actually be a statement piece in an outfit.

As a second point I´d like to mention their eco-friendly background. This shoes are made with vegan and recycled materials that pose no harm to the environment. Also, the initiative One for One in which when buying a pair a child in need recives one as well, turns this brand in not just a mere shoe maker company but a real humanitarian beacon.

Finally on a third note and probably the most controversial one, so to speak, is that this shoes are usually on the unisex side of things which might not resonate well with a lot of guys. But I think there is nothing to worry about because one of the key things about unisex pieces is that they perfectly blend with what the person is wearing so if you want them to look manly believe me they will (unless they are glittery or something then you wont go that far though lol). So, as an atempt to clear the air from any worries or taboo´s that may arise from this shoes I´ve decided to creat men looks using four of TOMS spring 2014 collection shoes.

By the way, I must also mention that since we are quite close to Father´s Day there ain´t no problem in giving one of these babies as a gift to that deserving man (be it Father, brother, cousin, friend and/or a husband).
