Shantall Lacayo´s Modern Gypsies.

Hace unos meses antes del MBFWP 2014 tuve la oportunidad de asistir al trunk show de la boutique Revolviendo el Baúl donde pude ver de cerca los diseños de Shantall Lacayo. Su colección titulada "Gypsy Goddess" es una referencia moderna a la cultura gitana en la que se combinaban detalles con cierta estructura, cut-outs lineales, estampados con tintes religiosos y un laborioso bordado hecho a mano, todo esto influido por un estilo "street wear" que le dio a la colección una frescura actual. Several months ago before the MBFWP 2014 I had the chance of attending the trunk show held at Revolviendo el Baúl boutique where I had an up-close experience with Shantall Lacayo´s designs. Her collection titled "Gypsy Goddess" is a modern reference to gypsy culture in which there´s a mix of structured pieces, lineal cut-outs, religious tinted prints and a seriously slayed hand-made embroidery, all of which is infused with a "street wear" style that gave the overall collection a current freshness.
