Fall 2016-17 Favorites.

Hello everyone! Happy start of the week and as I told you in the last post today I am here with my entry about my favorite collections from the entire autum/winter 2016/17 season.
There were a lot of collections I loved and if they all appeared in this post it will be the longest thing ever so I gather all my self editing abilities and narrow the list to three for each of the four capitals of fashion.
While I love and respect artistic or avant-garde fashion there is no hiding that my main likings tend to rest on the more wearable side of things according to my view, now this doesn´t mean that I am all for hugely commercial or boring fashion but if something tells me that I can see somebody wearing it then that´s exactly up my alley.
I hope you like this selection and if there was a collection that you liked that didn´t appear in this post do tell because I love knowing what you think my dear readers.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

J.Mendel
Elegant with a touch of modernity that makes it the ultimate contemporary luxe. If you are going to do upscale then this is the way of making it cool and relevant.

Alice + Olivia
They always find a way to make clothes interesting and wearable with a sense of playfulness...this is one of the brands I love.

Delpozo
Since the day Josep Font entered I called this one my NYFW magic moment...It might be challenging at times but the way he constructs the garments and the use of proportion, when it is a bit more subtle, just hit all the right notes. Besides the dreamy colors are always appreciated!

LONDON FASHION WEEK

Burberry
Christopher Bailey consistently makes great relatable clothes...I really loved the whole rock bitish vibe to this collection...and specially the shiny pieces...for some reason i´m all about shiny stuff this season.

David Koma
Some of you might know my fixation with amazing details...but there is also a side of me that absolutely dies for minimalist kinda futuristic clothes. David Koma just did them right! Also is really cool when you really like a collection from a designer that usually flies under your radar.

Mary Katrantzou
Mary is the exact opposite as the designer before...details here are on turbo mode. A very nice take on western which by the way has been having a little moment...Zuhair did it and also Dolce & Gabbana and Holly Fulton did it for the spring season...and I´m sure a lot other brands. Well I guess we need to saddle up!

MILAN FASHION WEEK

Salvatore Ferragamo
So someone didn´t get the memo on "Its fall we are going dark"...great! Finally some real popping color on the runway which I´ve always said is great for the fall and winter season...Everything is bleak so why the clothes should?

Fausto Puglisi
Elevated streetwear...just right up Fausto´s alley...he excells on that and I wouldn´t want it any other way cause his clothes are really cool.

Roberto Cavalli
The 70´s are alive! And apparently Peter Dundas taste is too...thanks God! (we all saw that dreadful debut collection at Cavalli). The styling, the mix and match, the attiude...it was all there and it was sooo good.

PARIS FASHION WEEK

Dries Van Noten
All Hail Dries! I can´t lie because there is a certain biased situation going on here but I try to watch everything with objectivity. This was understated luxurious elevated clothing...the details were toned down and it made for one of his most versatile collections to date.

Givenchy
So I have this situation of love/hate with this brand...first it was really street savy and I love it...then it became really lingerie-esque and way too dark for my taste...and now when I was finally making peace letting it go it just got me back in its claws. I feel personally victimized by Riccardo Tisci...he should totally pay my therapist...or sponsor me...I mean retail therapy works just as good you know.

Zuhair Murad
There is something going on with Zuhair...and Elie...because their garments are getting way more anti-ball and into a much more practical approach, though I belive Zuhair has achieved this a lot better. It isn´t just more vesatile but there is a rocker undercurrent to it that is really taking the brand into new heights.
