El mes de Mayo llega para hacer el relevo mensual y con el la alfombra roja más esperada por los amantes de la moda, el Met Gala. A lo largo de su trayectoria se ha convertido en una máxima que el tema de la exhibición directamente inspira el código de vestir para los artistas y celebridades que tienen el privilegio de ser invitados.
Este año la exhibición se centra en el trabajo de la reconocida diseñadora Rei Kawakubo, y su marca Commes des Garçons, el cual se define como una fuerza de creación e imaginación que a través de técnicas como la deconstruccion re-define los supuestos de moda convirtiéndola en un medio que artisticamente expresa conceptos filosóficos relacionados a la cultura y el ser humano.
Como es ya costumbre desde hace unos años hago un post de mis looks favoritos de la alfombra roja y en esta ocasión no es la excepción aunque debo confesar que me decepcionó que precisamente era esta edición donde muchas celebridades tenían la oportunidad abordar ese amor por el arte que la misma marca siempre ha establecido y la mayoría parece que ni siquiera prestó atención. Pero a los que si les dedico ésta entrada pues hubieron varias celebridades que sin duda se comprometieron a celebrar el legado de Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons.
The month of May arrives to make the monthly relay and with it the red carpet most awaited by fashion lovers, the Met Gala. Throughout its trayectory it has become a costum that the theme of the exhibition directly inspires the dress code for artists and celebrities who have the privilege of being invited.
This year the exhibition focuses on the work of the renowned designer Rei Kawakubo, and her brand Commes des Garçons, which is defined as a force of creation and imagination that through techniques such as deconstruction re-defines fashion assumptions by converting it in a medium that artistically expresses philosophical concepts related to culture and the human being.
As it is customary since a few years ago I make a post of my favorite red carpet looks and this time there´s no exception although I must confess that I was disappointed that it was precisely this edition where many celebrities had the opportunity to approach that love for art which the brand itself has always established and most seem to have not even paid attention. But to those who did I dedicate this entry because there were several celebrities who undoubtedly pledged to celebrate the legacy of Rei Kawakubo / Commes des Garçons.
