¡Hola! Hoy regreso con mi segunda entrada de diseño nacional del Fashion Week Panamá 2018. Debo decir que a mi concepto el segundo día del evento fue realmente el más fuerte en cuanto a colecciones, visión y confección.
Todos los diseñadores nacionales y locales presentaron propuestas solidas y perfectamente identificables con la estética de sus marcas. Lamentablemente no pude quedarme a ver las pasarelas de emergentes pero lo que he visto en instagram realmente se nota que este año los tres diseñadores que presentaban..como diríamos en jerga panameña -no venían con cuento- y mostraron muy buenas colecciones. Sin más que decir espero les agraden mis fotos y reseña de cada colección.
Hello! Today I am back with my second entry of Fashion Week Panama 2018 featuring all the national and local designs. To me the second day of the event was one of the strongest in terms of collections, vision and craftmanship.
All the local designers presented solid views that were prefectly identifiable with their aesthetics. Sadly I wasn´t able to stay for the new creators block but what I´ve seen in instagram shows that the three emerging designers came through with flying colors and showed some great collections. Without much further ado here are my reviews and opinions of the runways.
CHAJIN DESIGNS
Después de algunos años sin presentar en tierra panameña la diseñadora hace su regreso con una colección muy apegada al estilo que ha llevado desde hace varios años en una mezcla de detalles autóctonos y streetwear, todo siempre colorido y sin duda muy divertido. Los accesorios como siempre fueron un detalle notable y mis piezas favoritas fueron las que estaban fabricadas en un patchwork de denim lo que me parece algo distinto e interesante para su marca.
After a couple of years without presenting in panamanian land the designers makes a comeback with a collection that is to a T the style she has being setting her brand on for quite some years making a cool mix of streetwear and cultural details, of course always full of color and fun. Accesories as per usual were very notable and without a doubt my favorite piecees were the denim patchwork ones which I thought gave someting fresh and different to the brand.
JOHN BEJARANO
El diseñador se inspiró en la década de los años cuarenta y en ciertos detalles de la segunda guerra mundial que informaron el estilo de la época para crear una colección contemporánea con tintes retrospectivos, mezclando siluetas tradicionales con cortes modernos y estampados geométricos con el toque de color característico de la región latinoamericana y su marca.
The designer was inspired be the forties and certain aspect pertaining to WWII that shaped the style of the era to create a contemporary collection with a retrospective flair, mixing traditional silhouettes with modern cuts and geometric prints which carry the amazing color that´s very much a latinamerican, and his brand, standard.
MARCISCANO
Aunque no llenó mi expectativa de que continuara con la estética que presentó en el Macrofest es innegable que esta diseñadora entiende como crear trajes elegantes pero no aburridos. El trabajo manual fue sumamente notable y me encantaron los toques correspondientes a nuestra cultura celebrando el mestizaje panameño de una forma totalmente hermosa.
Though it didn´t accomplish to rise up to my expectations that she would keep the more laidback style presented at Macrofest it is undeniable that this designers understands how to create elegant but not at all boring evening gowns. The craftmanshio in them was mesmerizing and I loved how she integrated details from out culture celebrating the fabulous mix of races that is panamanian people in a totally beautiful and glamorous way.
SOUSA PITTI
La diseñadora también se inspiro en los años cuarenta sin embargo aunque su propuesta de igual manera incluyó elementos masculinos fue mucho más juvenil y continuó con su uso de telas frescas siempre pensando en el clima panameño. Para esta colección la diseñadora decidió incursionar en la moda masculina y creo que fue una excelente decisión pues la estética de su marca se adapta perfecto a ella.
The designer also got inspired in the forties and although she also used masculine elements in her collection overall it had a much more youthful vibe and it still sported the lightweight fabrics she´s been known for that perfectly adapt to the panamanian climate. She also included menswear pieces and I think it is great because here aesthetic lends amazingly for this venture so very much deserved props.
