Después de un tiempo alejado del blog por temas personales estoy de regreso con un nuevo post enfocándome en mis colecciones preferidas latinoamericanas de la temporada otoño-invierno 2019/20. Debo decir que repasando los diferentes eventos de moda principales de cada país hasta la fecha es innegable el increíble talento que existe en la región y es que me encanta ver como cada diseñador tiene un elemento representativo de su persona, su origen y que a la misma vez muestra una faceta de lo que es la moda latina contemporánea. ¡Espero les guste!
Hello everyone! After a time away from the blog because of personal issues I'm back with a new post focusing on my favorite Latin American collections for the fall-winter 2019/20 season. I must say that reviewing the different major fashion events of each country to date showed me how it is so undeniable the incredible talent that exists in the region and I love to seeing how each designer has a representative element of their person, their origin and at the same It shows a facet of contemporary Latin fashion. Hope you like my selections!
KRIS GOYRI - 'YUMARÉ' FW19/20
Para su propuesta otoño-invierno 2019 el diseñador mexicano presentó una colección donde dominó el color-block, plisados con efecto plastificado y el uso del crochet en prendas románticas que componían el segmento final dedicado al prístino color blanco. La feminidad ha sido una característica esencial para su marca y en esta colección se hace presente en hermosas telas que fluyen y se adaptan al cuerpo en un abrazo sedoso.
For his autumn-winter 2019 proposal, the Mexican designer presented a collection where color-block, pleats with plastic effect and the use of crochet in romantic garments that made up the final segment dedicated to the pristine white color dominated. Femininity has been an essential characteristic for his brand and in this collection is present in beautiful fabrics that flow and adapt to the body in a silky embrace.
HOSSH - 'AMAZONIA' FW19/20
La marca colombiana realizó un tributo a la biodiversidad del Amazonas con una colección cargada de estampados florales que en mancuerna con su construcción emanaban una alegría exuberante y a la vez una sensualidad delicada. Los estampados fueron sin duda la estrella de esta colección cada uno más hermoso que el anterior y no es para menos ya que esta marca se caracteriza precisamente por sus coloridos motivos.
The Colombian brand made a tribute to the biodiversity of the Amazon with a collection laden with floral prints that in harmony with its construction emanated an exuberant joy and at the same time a delicate sensuality. The prints were undoubtedly the star of this collection each more beautiful than the previous one and it is nothing strange to be honest since this brand is characterized precisely by its colorful motifs.
PAT SEDANO - 'HAPPINES FOR MY CHILDHOOD' FW19/20
La diseñadora peruana utilizó sus recuerdos de infancia como el motor para crear una colección que contiene una mezcla de diversos elementos, en esencia divirtiéndose con la moda. Desde piezas en tonos sólidos a aquellas con combinaciones de estampados que no pasan desapercibidos y de prendas básicas a diseños con estructura y cortes precisos que reflejan su amor por la moda japonesa.
The Peruvian designer used her childhood memories as the starting point to create a collection that contains a mixture of different elements, essentially having fun with fashion. From pieces in solid tones to those with combinations of prints that do not go unnoticed and from basic garments to designs with precise structures and cuts that reflect her love for Japanese fashion.
TORIBIO & DONATO - '52DIEZ' FW19/20
Una admiración y respeto mutuo fue el catalizador para que los diseñadores costarricenses Oscar Hernandez y Donato Morales unieran fuerzas para crear esta nueva marca cuyo objetivo es crear conciencia sobre como los desechos pueden ser reutilizados para crear moda. Utilizando 5,210 botellas plásticas consiguieron crear 210 yardas de tela con las cuales crearon esta colección donde utilizaron el método de patronaje cero residuo basado en las figuras geométricas del circulo, rombo y rectángulo que les permite hacer cortes inteligentes con la menor cantidad de residuos.
An admiration and mutual respect was the catalyst for Costa Rican designers Oscar Hernandez and Donato Morales to join forces and create this new brand whose goal is to raise awareness about how waste can be reused to create fashion. Using 5,210 plastic bottles they managed to create 210 yards of fabric with which they created this collection where they used the zero residue pattern design based on the geometric figures of the circle, diamond and rectangle that allows them to make intelligent cuts with the least amount of waste.
LISA THON - '787' FW19/20
Una de las creativas mas prominentes de Puerto Rico, la diseñadora Lisa Thon, presentó una colección que hizo honor a sus raíces escocesas donde predominó el estampado tartan en diversos colores como el negro, verde, rojo y azul. La esencia latinoamericana se mantuvo en las siluetas que en su mayor parte resaltaban la figura y ademas hizo uso de elementos atléticos asegurándose de incluir una de las tendencias del momento.
One of the most prominent creatives in Puerto Rico, designer Lisa Thon, presented a collection that honored her Scottish roots where the tartan print in different colors such as black, green, red and blue predominated. The Latin American essence remained in the silhouettes that mostly highlighted the figure and also made use of athleisure elements making sure to include one of the trends of the moment.
SAMUEL ACEBY - 'SO WEIT WIE NOCH NIE' FW19/20
El diseñador boliviano-alemán presentó en DAB Bolivia su más reciente colección inspirada en los viajes a Suramerica de Alexander von Humboldt. La propuesta tenia entre otras cosas referencias a los dibujos botánicos del explorador ademas de construcciones con volumen y hermosos toques de sastrería donde predominaron los tonos neutros como el negro y gris.
The Bolivian-German designer presented at DAB Bolivia his latest collection inspired by the trips to South America by the famous explorer Alexander von Humboldt. The proposal had, among other things, references to the explorer's botanical drawings as well as volume constructions and beautiful touches of tailoring where neutral tones such as black and gray took center stage.
En mis próximas entradas estaré concentrándome en las pasarelas Resort, presentaciones individuales y por supuesto las colecciones Primavera/verano. Este año realmente quiero dedicar la mayor parte de mis esfuerzos a compartir la moda latina aunque eso no quiere decir que dejaré de escribir sobre otras pasarelas internacionales especialmente en mi instagram así que no olviden seguirme allá.
In my next entries I´ll be taking on the Resort and Summer collections as well talk a little about individual presentations. This year I really wanted to highlight latinamerican fashion but of course I won´t look away from other international fashion weeks specially on my instagram so be sure to follow me there.
