Los Visitantes by Moy Bermudez.

¡Hola a tod@s! Hace ya unas semanas se llevó a cabo uno de los eventos de moda más esperados del año Altamoda, iniciativa de una colaboración entre Panama Talents y Altaplaza Mall que poco a poco ha adquirido notoriedad por sus diferentes mecánicas en las que se incluye el Young Fashion Designer Award. Este premio se le otorga a un estudiante que haya logrado pasar las rondas eliminatorias y salga victorioso de los últimos doce, como parte del premio se le otorga un capital para realizar una colección a presentarse durante las pasarelas oficiales de Altamoda el año próximo.

Esta premiación a mi parecer ha sido una plataforma increíble que ha mostrado el talento de diseñadores jóvenes con un fuerte punto de vista, tales como Katherine Soto (Kniji) y Lupe Guerra (Antonia, la Moreneta) siendo este año el turno de Moy Bermudez quien presentó su colección "Los Visitantes".

Hello everyone! A few weeks ago, one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year Altamoda was carried out, an initiative born of a collaboration between Panama Talents and Altaplaza Mall that has gradually gained notoriety for its different mechanics in which the Young Fashion Designer Award is included. This prize is awarded to a student who has managed to pass the qualifying rounds and gains the first place from the last twelve contestants, as part of the prize he/she is granted a fund to make a collection to be presented during the official Altamoda runways the next year.

This award seems to me to be an incredible platform that has shown the talent of young designers with a strong point of view such as Katherine Soto (Kniji) and Lupe Guerra (Antonia, la Moreneta), this year being the turn of Moy Bermudez who presented his collection "The Visitors".

Debo decir que nuevamente un ganador de Altamoda me sorprende con una propuesta bien planteada, conceptualista, creativa y que aún así guardaba un factor usable. La colección en si hizo uso de siluetas estructuradas, cortes de inspiración japonesa con una especial atención a las chaquetas de diferentes largos mientras que diferentes tipos de leotardos bordados que cubrían los rostros ayudaban a enfatizar esa imagen de otro mundo que titulaba la inspiración. En algunas piezas, más que nada en cortes y textiles, pude notar lo que a mi parecer eran algunas influencias de Dior que creo fueron referencias que se supieron manejar.

I must say that once again a Altamoda winner surprises me with a well-presented, conceptualist, creative proposal that still had a usable factor. The collection itself made use of structured silhouettes, Japanese-inspired cuts with special attention to jackets of different lengths while different types of embroidered leggings that covered the faces helped to emphasize that otherworldly image that titled the inspiration. In some pieces, mostly in cuts and textiles, I could see what I think were some influences of Dior which to me were references that were handle in the right way.

Sin duda una presentación que continúa con el estándar de creatividad y frescura que se espera de los ganadores del YFDA, me siento muy ansioso por ver como va evolucionando Moy como diseñador. También quiero extender mis felicitaciones a la ganadora de este año Mahogany Niles que tuve la oportunidad de saludar durante el evento y me fascinó su buena vibra; estoy muy a la expectativa de lo que llegue a presentar el próximo año. Por último, pero no menos importante, aplausos a los organizadores por nuevamente concretar un evento bien hecho que reúne talento nacional e internacional que tiene contacto directo con un publico maravillosamente polifacético.

Without a doubt, a presentation that continues with the standard of creativity and freshness that is expected of the winners of the YFDA, I´m looking forward to see how Moy as a designer is going to evolve. I also want to extend my congratulations to this year's winner Mahogany Niles that I had the opportunity to greet during the event and I was fascinated by her good vibes; I am very much looking forward to what she will present next year. Last but not least, a big applause to the organizers for once again setting up a well-done event that brings together national and international talent that has direct contact with a wonderfully multifaceted public.
