¡Hola a todos! Los que me han seguido desde hace tiempo saben que siempre he tenido mucho interés en apoyar el diseño local de mi país, de hecho ese siempre fue y sigue siendo el motivo base de por que comencé este blog y aunque con el paso de los años he ido agregando temas de diseño latinoamericano y de otros países nunca he dejado de lado la oportunidad de darle foco al diseño panameño.
Recientemente llamo mi atención una nueva iniciativa local llamada Gumo la cual esta siendo organizada por emprendedores nacionales en colaboración con artesanas Guna Yala y que busca crear una unión entre moda y las técnicas ancestrales de nuestros indígenas para crear un producto de diseño exclusivo que a su vez, a través de las ventas, sea de ayuda para la cultura Guna.
Hello everyone! I know that all of you dear readers that´ve been following me since years have always know I am very interested in supporting my country´s local designers, in fact it has always been and still is the base reason for why I started this blog to begin with and though with the pass of time themes like latinamerican, north american, european and asian designs have found their way here, I´ve never ceased in taking the chance of highlighting panamanian design.
Recently a new iniciative called Gumo came to my attention, this proyect organized by local entrepreneurs in collaboration with Guna Yala artisans aims to forge a union between fashion and the ancestral techniques of our native people to create an exclusive design that through it sales is also destined to help the Guna culture.
Como les comenté esta es una iniciativa nueva y aún están en proceso de hacer que la marca Gumo despegue y es por eso necesitan toda la ayuda que les puedan brindar por lo que están recibiendo patrocinios y contribuciones a través del programa Kickstarter.
En el mismo hay diferentes montos de contribución cada uno con excelentes beneficios que van desde ser parte de las primeras personas en recibir un producto Gumo, tener la posibilidad de crear y hacer realidad un diseño personalizado e incluso recibir un viaje a Panamá con estadía de cinco noches en el Hotel Hilton.
Con esta contribución no solo harás realidad el sueño de un grupo de emprendedores sino que ayudaras directamente a las artesanas que han puesto su tiempo en este proyecto con la esperanza de mostrar su talento y a la vez buscar un mejor futuro para ellas y sus familias que no viven en las mejores condiciones económicas.
As I mentioned this is a new initiative and they are still in the process of making the brand Gumo take off and it therefore needs all the help you can provide them and that´s why they are getting sponsorships and contributions through the Kickstarter program.
In it there are different amounts of contributions each with excellent benefits ranging from being part of the first people to receive a Gumo product, being able to create and make a custom design reality and even receive a roundtrip to Panama and stay five nights at the Hilton Hotel, among other things.
With this contribution not only you do realize the dream of a group of entrepreneurs but help directly to the artisans who have put their time into this project hoping to showcase their talent while seeking a better future for themselves and their families that are not living in the best economic conditions.
Gumo está iniciando con una selección de diseños que no solo son hermosos visualmente pero también prácticos y versátiles. Los wallets pueden funcionar para guardar tarjetas de presentación o de crédito, mientras que los clutches pueden ser llevados de forma convencional, con cadena o inclusive como wristlets.
Los diseños de mola tradicionales están actualizados en colores modernos y llamativos mientras que también han incluido otras creaciones con motivos interesantes. Los exhorto a que si está en sus posibilidades contribuyan a este genial proyecto cuya existencia será muy beneficiosa para varias familias nativas y abrirá en el futuro plazas de trabajo para muchos más.
Gumo is starting with a selection of designs that are not only visually beautiful but also practical and versatile. The wallets can function to store presentation or credit cards, while clutches can be carried in a conventional manner, with a chain strap or even as wristlets.
Traditional mola designs are updated in modern and bright colors while also including other creations with interesting motifs. I exhort you if it is in your possibilities to contribute to this great project whose existence will be very beneficial for several native families and will open in the future jobs for many more.
