Continúo con mis entradas sobre este MBFWP 2016 y en esta ocasión le toca a dos diseñadores locales quienes a mi concepto mostraron las colecciones más femeninas durante el fashion week. Cada uno la maneja de una forma muy diferente, Tony Vergara la amolda a una visión muy contemporánea que dota a su musa de un cierto poder y energía; Lidia Minota presenta la feminidad de su mujer con mucha suavidad y elegancia, casi transformándolas en ninfas con un halo de magia y fluidez.
Cada uno posee un estilo muy diferente pero increíblemente marcado que ha hecho sus marcas identificables, algo que en este medio considero una de las cosas más importantes a lograr con el fin de crearse no un lugar sino de imprimirle un sello a la marca tan perceptible que la mente del espectador pueda incluso reconocer, o al menos considerar, que una pieza es de ese diseñador con tan solo verla.
As I continue with my entries about MBFWP 2016 is time to highlight the collections of two local designers that presented collections that I deemed to be the most femenine, almost romantic, during the entire fashion week. Each one of the manages this in a very different way, Tony Vergara uses it in a way that it molds itself to a contemporary vision that infuses his muse with power and energy. Lidia Minota presents it in a more soft and elegant manner, transforming her women in nimphs who float about with magic and grace.
While both have different styles the one thing in common is that their respective brands are incredibly identifiable, something that I consider to be really important if you work in this medium because it helps the brand to cement itself and also created a language that can become so perceptible that the mind of the spectator can even recognize, or at least consider, that a look he sees might be from that designer just by looking at it.
TONY VERGARA "Aqwualuz" SS17
He seguido la carrera de Tony desde que existía la marca Vergara & Vergara y aunque ahora sea solo su nombre el que esta frente al público he podido notar una progresión y evolución en lo que se refiere a su diseño. Su más reciente colección es una muestra de la madurez creativa que ha adquirido el diseñador tomando en cuenta la practicidad y versatilidad de sus piezas junto a lo que la mujer actual utiliza, esto claro sin dejar a un lado su sello característico de vanguardia y el impecable trabajo de bordado que lo ha convertido en uno de los mejores en el tema gracias a su creatividad y experimentación con el mismo.
Los colores de la colección son muy reconocibles dentro de su marca al punto que es casi una paleta que identifica la misma. El diseñador utiliza técnicas como pintura manual, teñido y bordado para elevar cada una de sus piezas sin llevarlo a un plano exagerado; la adición de separados y sacos da a esta colección una vibra muy usable que elogio con toda sinceridad.
I´ve been following Tony´s career since the brand Vergara & Vergara still existed and while now is only his name the one that faces the public I have noticed a progression and evolution when it comes to his designs. His recent collection is an example of his growing maturity in design taking in account things like practicality and versatility in his garments with the notion of what the nowdays woman wears, this of course without sacrificing his forward style and impeccable hand beading which has placed him as one of the best designers when it comes to that area thanks to his creativity and experimentation with it.
The colors of the collection are very recognizable within his brand to the point I dare to say is a palette that identifies it. The designer uses techniques like hand painting, dyeing and beading as a way to elevate each one of the pieces without going overboard. Also de addition of separates and blazers are instrumental in giving this collection its wearable vibe which I honestly commend.
LIDIA MINOTA "Bloom" SS17
La elegancia femenina en las piezas de Lidia Minota es algo que no solo es reconocible sino que muy deseable por un número alto de mujeres. Sus bellos detalles logran conquistar los corazones de aquellas que ven sus piezas y es que si hay algo que esta diseñadora sabe hacer es crear prendas visualmente lindas.
La propuesta de esta diseñadora jugó con las transparencias que aportaban frescura a la colección, algo que siempre es bien apreciado en Panamá. Las aplicaciones y bordados hicieron referencia al nombre de la colección creando con ellas hermosas flores que le daban un toque muy femenino y risueño. Un detalle muy interesante y que se vio a lo largo de la colección fueron las mangas que eran bastante marcadas circulares y acampanadas, también los lazos en faldas y pantalones que ayudaban a establecer estructura en los atuendos.
The femenine elegance in Lidia Minota´s garments its just not something that´s quite recognizable but also very desireable. Her beautiful details conquer the hearts of the women who come across her designs because if there is one things she excells at is creating visually beautiful pieces.
Her current offering played with transparencies which gave the collection a welcome freshness, believe me this is very sought after in Panama. The appliqués and beading made direct reference to the name which tells the inspiration of this line creating with them beautiful florals that added that touch of soft femininity which was kind of dreamy. A very interesting detail were the sleeves which came in circular and almost bell like shapes while the bows on skirts and pants helped the collection in aqcuiring structure.

ReplyDeleteLo sigo desde que era V&V y no deja de sorprenderme - me encanta - sólo que en esta oportunidad hubo algo en la elección de los calzados de las modelos que me parece le restó a su arte.
