Los diseñadores nacionales y locales siempre nos sorprenden cada año con sus propuestas y sobre todo las ganas de presentar creaciones cada vez mejores que no solo ponen a la vista de el público panameño, sino que tienen la oportunidad de llevar fuera de nuestras fronteras compartiendo su talento con otras culturas que de igual manera tienen una gran apreciación por la moda.
Este año hemos tenido varios diseñadores que han llevado su talento al extranjero como John Bejarano en Expomoda Colombia, Anna Francesca en NYFW, Annie Chajin en Fashion Week Nicaragua, Sousa Pitti en Nicaragua Diseña y la marca Stella Maris en el Fashion Week Honduras, esta última siendo el tema de la actual entrada.
National and local designers always surprise us every year with their proposals and above all the desire to present ever better creations that are not only put in display for the Panamanian audience, but that they also have the opportunity to take outside our borders sharing their talent with other cultures that likewise have a great appreciation for fashion.
This year we have had several designers who have taken their talent abroad like John Bejarano at Expomoda Colombia, Anna Francesca at NYFW, Annie Chajin at Fashion Week Nicaragua, Sousa Pitti at Nicaragua Diseña and brand Stella Maris at Fashion Week Honduras, the latter being the subject of the current entry.
La diseñadora presentó su más reciente colección en el marco del Fashion Week Honduras 2017. Esta propuesta esta inspirada en el clásico libro de Jules Verne "Viente Mil Leguas de Viaje Submarino" adentrándonos a una aventura a través del mar donde la diseñadora utiliza símbolos de navegación y alusivos a las leyendas de los viajes marítimos en conjunto con estampados que recuerdan la reflexión de la luz sobre el mar.
La marca Stella Maris se ha hecho un nombre al tener un concepto donde se utilizan muchas técnicas artesanales y es en esta colección donde siento que más ha brillado esa característica ya que en ella se han creado hermosos estampados bordados a mano cuya belleza es fiel testamento de las horas y la dedicación que en ellos se pusieron, mientras que otros han sido dibujados por la diseñadora llevando en si un sello de originalidad que se ha vuelto propio de la marca.
The designer presented her latest collection in the framework of the Fashion Week Honduras 2017. This proposal is inspired by the classic book from Jules Verne "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea", taking us on an adventure across the sea where the designer uses navigation symbols and others allusive to the legends of sea voyages together with prints that recall the reflection of light on the sea.
The brand Stella Maris has made itself a name by having a concept where many artisanal techniques are used and it is in this collection where I feel that characteristic has shone more since in it have been created beautiful hand embroidered prints which beauty is a faithful testament of the hours and the dedication that she has put in them, while others have been drawn by the designer bearing in itself a stamp of originality that has become integral to the brand.
Otro punto a destacar de esta colección es que toma las siluetas de 1800 y las moderniza creando una mezcla entre actual y vintage que da a las piezas una percepción mucho más madura que en su colección debut.
Lamentablemente la diseñadora Maris Kiener no estará presentando en esta edición del FWP pero creo que hizo una muy buena representación en Honduras llevando una propuesta con bastante solidez y mostrando su habilidad en el trabajo artesanal que le caracteriza.
Es una marca joven que aún esta creciendo y poco a poco va encontrando su espacio mientras evoluciona su ADN creando un universo propio y tengo total seguridad que aún le queda mucho con que sorprender.
Another highlight of this collection is that it takes the silhouettes of the 1800's and modernizes them creating a mix between current and vintage that gives the pieces a much more mature perception than in their debut collection.
Unfortunately the designer Maris Kiener will not be presenting in this edition of the FWP but I think she made a very good representation in Honduras carrying a proposal with enough solidity and showing her skill in the craftwork that characterizes her brand.
It is a young brand that is still growing and is slowly finding its space while evolving its DNA striving to create a universe of its own and I am sure that there is still much more for us to be surprised.
Esta última imagen no es de pasarela pues el archivo no contenía la pieza que tenía este bello trabajo, sin embargo no podía dejar pasar esta entrada sin incluir una foto de el pues creo que merece ser mostrado. Me encanta ver una marca tan dedicada a la propuesta artesanal ya que nos da a los espectadores la oportunidad de ver técnicas manuales hermosas y le da a los diseños algo sumamente especial y altamente valioso.
This last image is not from the runway because the file did not contain the piece that had this beautiful work, however I could not finalize this entry without including a photo of it since I think it deserves to be shown. I love to see a brand so dedicated to artisanal craft as it gives viewers the opportunity to see beautiful manual techniques and infuses the designs with something extremely special and highly valuable.
