Continuando con mis tendencias y demás curiosidades preferidas de estos meses de moda es el turno de la semana de la moda londinense, la cual se caracteriza por el impresionante mar de creatividad de sus diseñadores, así como de su experimentación en cuanto a formas, usos de telas y el color. Si, Londres no es apto para minimalistas (bueno siempre hay excepciones) y la vibra ochentera que sin duda se ha apoderado de la mente de los creadores ha sido aprovechada al máximo por los británicos.
Esta semana de la moda aunque es una de las más cortas suele ser de las que dejan una marca en la memoria de sus espectadores pues casi todos los diseñadores tienen propuestas realmente solidas; marcas como Halpern, Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda, Burberry, House of Holland, Chalayan, Preen, Erdem y Roland Mouret mantienen siempre a la audiencia cautivada con sus propuestas. Tampoco podemos olvidar las presentaciones de Central Saint Martins una de las universidades de moda más reconocidas a nivel mundial y a los estudiantes de Fashion East quienes se aseguran de demostrar cada temporada que el talento emergente viene dotado de una poderosa vena creativa.
Este año los diseñadores Matty Bovan y Richard Quinn fueron muy celebrados por propuestas que para muchos aseguran que el futuro de la moda en Londres será indudablemente brillante. Para finalizar, es imposible no mencionar la participación de Delpozo cuyo director Josep Font decide no participar en el NYFW para presentarse en suelo británico, movimiento que es un espejo de acciones que han tomado una gran cantidad de diseñadores tradicionalmente neoyorquinos de presentar fuera de temporada o en una semana de la moda diferente (varios han preferido París).

Continuing with my trends and other favorite curiosities of these fashion months is now the turn for London fashion week, which is characterized by the impressive sea of creativity of its designers, as well as its experimentation in terms of forms, uses of fabrics and color. Yes, London is not suitable for minimalists (well there are always exceptions) and the eighties vibe that has undoubtedly taken over the minds of the creators has been taken full advantage of by the British.
This week of fashion, although it is one of the shortest, usually leaves a mark in the memory of its spectators, since almost all designers have really solid proposals; brands such as Halpern, Christopher Kane, Simone Rocha, Mary Katrantzou, Roksanda, Burberry, House of Holland, Chalayan, Preen, Erdem and Roland Mouret always keep the audience enthralled with their proposals. Nor can we forget the presentations of Central Saint Martins, one of the most recognized fashion universities in the world, and Fashion East students who make sure to demonstrate each season that emerging talent is endowed with a powerful creative vein.
This year the designers Matty Bovan and Richard Quinn were very celebrated for proposals that for many assured that the future of fashion in London will undoubtedly be brilliant. Finally, it is impossible not to mention the participation of Delpozo whose director Josep Font decided not to participate in NYFW to perform on British soil, a movement that is a mirror of actions that have taken a lot of traditionally New York designers to present off-season or in a different fashion week (several have preferred Paris).

Aunque siempre se ha discutido si la moda es o no un arte lo que es certero es que este último ha sido siempre una de las fuentes más importantes de inspiración para los diseñadores y este año no fue la excepción. Desde la pintura hasta el cine las colecciones londinenses hicieron oda a las bellas artes.
Although it has always been a point of discussion if fashion is or not an art there´s one thing that´s certain, the latter has been an important point of inspiration for fashion and this year was no exception. From painting to cinema london collections were a song to the beautiful arts.

DREAMS IN REALITY.
Algo que me sorprendió mucho fue ver referencias no a un arte o una película sino a personas. Varios diseñadores encontraron su inspiración en personajes reales cuya personalidad, actitud y entorno dieron vida a propuestas que iban desde lo romántico, a lo nostálgico y a lo revolucionario.
Something that surprised me a lot was not the references to any art form but to people. Several designers found their inspiration in real life humans whose personality, attitude and surroundings gave life to proposals that were romantic, nostalgic and even revolutionary in spirit.

EIGTHIES THINGS!
El exitazo de Stanger Things debió alertarnos a todos que los ochentas estarían de regreso con fuerza y eso se hizo sentir fuertemente tanto en NY como en Londres. Una década que se caracterizó por el maximalismo y la extroversión del estilo fue el medio perfecto para que estos creativos dieran rienda suelta a su imaginación.
The huge sucess that was Stranger Things should´ve gave us a clue that the eightiers were coming back in full force, something which was notorious at NY and now at London. A decade marked by maximalism and extroverted style (and really extroverted everything else lol) it was the perfect medium for these creatives to let their imagination have some fun.

TAILORED EDGE.
Siguiendo con la temática ochentera los emblemáticos trajes sastre femeninos hicieron su regreso pero en versiones actualizadas donde el toque contemporáneo fue el ideal para refrescar una estética retro que no necesariamente se recuerda con mucho cariño.
Still on the 80´s theme another thing that made its return were the power suits albeit in a more contemporary apporach which gave them a fantastic edge, something ideal to make feel fresh a "look" that honestly isn´t remembered with that much love.

ON MY SIGHT.
Central Saint Martins, Fashion East y Westminster presentaron un futuro prometedor para la moda británica, así mismo diseñadores menos reconocidos se alzaron al nivel requerido mostrando que son marcas dignas de seguir y que merecen reconocimiento por parte de los medios internacionales.
Central Saint Martins, Fashion East and Westminster presented a promising future for british fashion, lesser known designers also rised up to the task showing that there are brands that deserve a following and the recognition of mainstream media.

Este año debo decir que ha sido mi favorito en cuanto a las pasarelas de Londres, creo que el talento que ahí reside, y el que está surgiendo, finalmente encontró el balance perfecto entre experimentación, creatividad y funcionalidad. Más adelante ¡Milán!
This year I gotta say was my favorite from the LFW runway shows, I believe that the talent that already is established, and those who are coming up, finally found the perfect balance between experimentation, creativity and functionality. Next runway stop, Milan!
