¡Hola! Hace una semana revisando mi facebook di con un anuncio sobre las celebraciones por el mes de la Francofonía por la Alianza Francesa de Panamá en el cual se celebra la historia y esparcimiento del idioma Frances a lo largo del mundo. Como evento final a este mes de celebraciones, las cuales incluyeron muestras de arte, conciertos y talleres, se realizó una cata de comidas de diferentes países entre los cuales pude probar delicias de Egipto, Bélgica, México, Suiza y Francia.
Adicional a esto también se organizó una pasarela para la presentación de la colección Otoño 2018 del diseñador haitiano Jean Mackens Riviere quien ha formado parte del medio de diseño panameño desde hace ya varios años y ha logrado una gran aceptación local por sus diseños elegantes. Hace algunos años tuve la oportunidad de ver una de sus colecciones en el Fashion Week Panamá y conmigo se quedó ese hermoso manejo del color que destilaba alegría y vida sumado a un visual elegante que sin duda formaba una mezcla que es muy gustada en mi país.
Hello! A week ago scrolling through my facebook I came across an announcement about the celebrations for the Francophonie month hosted by the French Alliance of Panama in which the history and recreation of the French language is celebrated throughout the world. As a final event for this month of celebrations, which included art shows, concerts and workshops, a tasting of meals from different countries was held, among which I could enjoy delicacies from Egypt, Belgium, Mexico, Switzerland and France.
In addition to this, a catwalk was also organized for the presentation of the Autumn 2018 collection by Haitian designer Jean Mackens Riviere who has been part of the Panamanian design medium for several years and has achieved great local acceptance for his elegant designs. Some years ago I had the opportunity to see one of his collections at Fashion Week Panama and I really liked that beautiful color management that exuded joy and life combined with an elegant visual that undoubtedly formed a mixture that is very popular in my country.
El diseñador deleitó a los presentes con su colección titulada "Elegancia" y siento que hizo honor a este hecho con una propuesta que en cada salida hablaba de una mujer segura de si misma, con clase y porte. Pero esta elegancia no era estrictamente tradicional, las piezas trabajaban para exaltar la sensualidad femenina abrazando la figura, resaltando las curvas y utilizando transparencias estratégicas como una ventana que solo muestra parte de una obra de arte. Detalles como encajes, vuelos y brillos ayudaron a crear una vibra exuberante a los diseños que vistos en conjunto se alzaban como el guardarropa de una mujer que sabe manejar su habilidad para fascinar.
The designer delighted the audience with his collection entitled "Elegance" and I feel that he honored this fact with a proposal that at each exit spoke of a woman sure of herself, with class and poise. But this elegance was not strictly traditional, the pieces worked to exalt the feminine sensuality embracing the figure, highlighting the curves and using strategic transparencies as a window that only showed part of a work of art. Details such as lace, ruffles and embroidery helped to create a lush vibe to the designs that, seen together, rose up like the wardrobe of a woman who knows how to handle her ability to fascinate.
Una de mis metas este año es retomar mi misión de compartir con ustedes la moda en Panamá, en especial las pasarelas, por lo que trataré de atender las diversas pasarelas que se organicen durante el año para poder exponer el trabajo de estos creadores que en ocasiones llevan años en el negocio mostrando los frutos de su experiencia y en otras están iniciando un camino en el cual su creatividad brilla sumándose a este movimiento para avanzar la imagen de la moda panameña.

One of my goals this year is to resume my mission to share with you the fashion in Panama, especially the catwalks, so I will try to attend the various runways that are organized during the year to share the work of these creators that sometimes they have been in business for years showing the fruits of their experience and in others they are starting a path in which their creativity shines, adding fuel to this movement of advancing the image of Panamanian fashion.
