¡Hola a tod@s! Llega la temporada primavera-verano a Madrid y por supuesto no podía evitar hacer un pequeño recuento de la misma, en esta ocasión decidí hacer una lista con mis seis pasarelas favoritas de la temporada donde mi única consideración fue que tan memorables fueron a mis ojos. Me puse una tarea muy difícil pues debo decir que muchísimas pasarelas fueron de mi total gusto pero tenía una misión y creo que la cumplí, sin duda en esta ocasión la estética que llamó mi atención fuertemente fue aquella elegante y que muy poco se amparaba en las tendencias.
Dentro de poco comenzará la temporada de moda panameña y estoy emocionado por ver las presentaciones de varios de diseñadores, así como de lo que estará presentando el diseñador con el que trabajo. Mientras me preparo para ella aquí los dejo con mis selecciones del Madrid Fashion Week, espero les guste.
Hello everyone! The spring-summer season has arrived in Madrid and of course I could not avoid making a small recount of it, this time I decided to make a list of my six favorite shows of the season where my only consideration was how memorable they were in my eyes. I set a very difficult task because I must say that many runways were of my total taste but I had a mission and I believe that I fulfilled it, without a doubt this time the aesthetic that caught my attention was elegant and very little inclined towards trends.
Soon the Panamanian fashion season will begin and I am excited to see the presentations of several designers, as well as what the designer with whom I work will be presenting. While I prepare for that here I leave you with my selections from Madrid Fashion Week, I hope you like them.
The 2nd Skin Co.
Los creadores de esta marca presentaron una colección titulada 'Atelier Madrid' un esfuerzo que busca entrelazar el aire francés con la estética madrileña presentando una colección intima en la que el toile, tela que sirve para crear el bosquejo físico de un diseño, toma protagonismo junto con otros elementos que son usualmente internos en las prendas dejando ver la belleza de la técnica y la construcción detrás de ellas.
The creators of this brand presented a collection entitled 'Atelier Madrid', an effort that seeks to interlace the French flair with the Madrid aesthetic by presenting an intimate collection in which the toile, a fabric that serves to create the physical outline of a design, takes center stage together with other elements that are usually internal in the garments showing the beauty of the technique and the construction behind them.
Hannibal Laguna
La colección del diseñador venezolano relaciona el mundo de la flora con el de la moda dotando a las prendas de hermosos colores y estampados florales que dan un toque clásico de feminidad. El diseñador también quiso referenciar el estilo latinoamericano de los años 30 y 40 creando prendas que se conectan con sus orígenes y entrelazan la estética exótica latina con la elegancia del viejo continente.
The Venezuelan designer's collection connects the world of flora with that of fashion, endowing garments with beautiful colors and floral prints that give off a classic touch of femininity. The designer also wanted to reference the Latin American style of the 30s and 40s, creating garments that connect with his origins and intertwine exotic Latin aesthetics with the elegance of the old continent.
Marcos Luengo
Excelente propuesta del diseñador Marcos Luengo - quien presentó en Panamá el año pasado - en colaboración con el acuarelista Charles Villeneuve y la escultura María García Pinto quien realizó la joyería. Una hermosa colección que mezcló el arte con los motivos alusivos a la naturaleza y la hermosa técnica del diseñador que dio ese toque elegante y con una paleta de colores que sin duda fue de mis favoritas.
Excellent proposal of the designer Marcos Luengo - who presented in Panama last year - in collaboration with the watercolorist Charles Villeneuve and the sculptress María García Pinto who made the jewelry. A beautiful collection that mixed art with allusive motifs to nature and the beautiful technique of the designer who gave that elegant touch with a palette of colors that undoubtedly was my favorite.
Miguel Marinero
La inspiración proviene de la vida acuática y las bellezas del mar, estos efectos se trasladaron en colores planos y frescos, telas de textura deshidratada como los linos lavados y el uso de pedrería para que en ocasiones simulaban corales. Para esta colección la marca quiso suavizar un poco el poderío femenino que le caracteriza pero aún hicieron guiños con trajes sastre y prendas de cuero.
The inspiration comes from the aquatic life and the beauties of the sea, these effects were transferred in flat and fresh colors, fabrics of dehydrated texture such as washed linens and the use of rhinestones that sometimes simulated corals. For this collection the brand wanted to soften a little the feminine power that characterizes it but still managed to make winks with suits and leather garments.
Duyos
Un viaje a Costa Rica inspiró la creación de esta colección que es una carta de amor al país y a la vez da un recorrido al publico de su maravillosa experiencia conociendo cada rincón; tomando desde la arquitectura brutalista hasta la exuberancia de sus junglas, utilizando cada recurso de diseño, detalles y pedrería el diseñador creo su visión en moda de un viaje que sin duda dejó una huella indeleble en su corazón.
A trip to Costa Rica inspired the creation of this collection that is a love letter to the country and at the same time gives the public a tour of the designer´s wonderful experience knowing each corner; taking from brutalist architecture to the exuberance of its jungles; using each design resource, details and precious stones, the designer created his vision in fashion of a trip that undoubtedly left an indelible mark on his heart.
Oliva
El diseñador presentó una colección donde 'atemporal' era una de las palabras clave creando piezas que trascienden las temporadas y están fabricadas para no ser una tendencia sino un estandarte del armario en el que habiten. La segunda palabra clave de esta colección, y de la marca en si, es 'sostenible' ya que el diseñador no desaprovecha ninguna de las telas tratando de encontrar formas de hacer upcycling.
The designer presented a collection where 'timeless' was one of the key words creating pieces that transcend the seasons and are manufactured not to be a trend but a standard of the closet in which they live. The second keyword of this collection, and of the brand itself, is 'sustainable' since the designer does not waste any of the fabrics trying to find ways to do upcycling.
Me gusta mucho lo que esta sucediendo a nivel de diseño en Madrid y es que ha logrado introducir en mi radar a muchos diseñadores que hoy en día están entre mis favoritos. Creo que los diseñadores madrileños tienen un nivel de amor y arte por su trabajo muy notorio y eso se refleja maravillosamente en sus propuestas.
I really like what is happening at the design level in Madrid and that has managed to introduce many designers on my radar that are now among my favorites. I think that the designers from Madrid have a very notorious level of love and art in their work and that is reflected beautifully in their proposals.
